Councillor Claims Carrigaholt Is Waiting 44 Years For Sewage System

It’s claimed a number of households in West Clare have been waiting over 40 years for a sewage system – with no end in sight to their plight.

Fine Gael Councillor Gabriel Keating insists sourcing the necessary finance to put a system in place in Carrigaholt needs to be prioritised.

A scheme was ruled out in 2015 after a feasibility study showed it would cost in the region of €1.2 million.

But Councillor Keating says the majority of that money is already in place – and that work must begin on it this year:
