Covid Cases On The Rise In Clare

Five new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Clare.

They’re among 92 new cases across the country that were reported to the National Public Health Emergency Team yesterday.

There were no new deaths associated with the virus.

Out of the 92 new cases confirmed across the country last night, 48 are women and 43 are men.

The National Public Health Emergency Team also says 43 of the cases reported are associated with a known outbreak of the virus or are a close contact of a confirmed case.

12 are associated with community transmission.

Dublin and Kildare had the highest number of newly reported cases at 24 each, while there were 5 here in Clare.

It means at least 44 new cases have been reported in this county since July 26th.

Meanwhile, two people are now being treated at University Hospital Limerick for Covid-19, while 55 patients are waiting on results of tests for the virus.

The latest figures from the HSE shows the Dooradoyle facility has only two vacant general beds and 3 vacant critical care beds.
