Hope has been expressed that planned works aimed at addressing ongoing issues at a notorious traffic blackspot in North Clare will be completed on schedule in two years time.

Clare County Council is moving ahead with compulsory purchase orders for two buildings in Ennistymon, which will be demolished to make way for the long-awaited works.

The multi-million euro plan, which is at an advanced stage, involves the construction of a new bridge, and other associated works.

Ennistymon Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that he’s confident that the project won’t face any fresh delays.
