Serious concern has been raised in South East Clare about the treacherous roadside grazing of horses.

Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe is calling on Limerick City Council to address the problem on the Knockalisheen Road in Meelick, which straddles the Clare and Limerick county boundary.

Two carcasses of horses that were hit by cars have been removed in recent weeks, while the city authority says the area will be monitored and any illegal animals will be removed.
