Clare Motorists Urged To Drive With Extreme Care As Dense Fog Descends On The County

Gardaí are urging drivers in East Clare to drive with extreme care as heavy fog has led to dangerous conditions on the roads.

One person was taken to hospital this morning, following a collision between a car and a tractor and trailer near Killaloe.

An orange weather alert in place at the time has been extended until the early hours of tomorrow morning.

One person has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a tractor and trailor at Killestry, near Killaloe at around quarter past 8 this morning.

Emergency services were alerted and the male driver of the car was taken to University Hospital Limerick as a precautionary measure.

The driver of the tractor was unharmed.

Gardaí say weather conditions in the area were very bad at the time of the crash, and that conditions have since worsened in the Killaloe area.

They’re urging drivers to slow down and drive with care and to ensure their lights are on.

An orange weather alert which had been in place for Clare and the rest of the country at the time has been extended until 2 o’clock tomorrow morning.
