The Clare County Chairman of the IFA claims farmers are being used as a scapegoats on the issue of cllimate change.
Farmers could face taxes for greenhouse gas emissions, if the Government accepts recommendations by the Citizens Assembly, who met over the weekend.
It has also suggested an end to all subsidies for peat extraction in favour of investment in peat bog restoration.
