Clare Gardai are urging drivers planning to heading out over the Bank Holiday to leave the car keys behind.
Officers are out in force across the county this weekend clamping down on speed drink and dangerous driving and the non wearing of seatbelts.
The number of road fatalities across Clare is down so far this year compared to the same period last year.
