Clare Farmers Receive Lowest Payments Under Sheep Welfare Scheme

Clare’s sheep farmers receive the lowest level of supports of any county in Ireland, under one key scheme for the sector.

The Dáil has been told 174 farmers here receive an average of €356 each under the sheep welfare scheme.

However, that’s over €200 less than the next lowest county and over €1000 less than Waterford, which records the biggest average payment amount.
