Clare County Council is being urged to snap up the site of the former Our Lady’s Hospital in Ennis.
The 16-acre plot is being sold at auction next month with a reserve price of over €800,000 and it’s being described by some as an opportunity for the town.
Fine Gael TD Joe Carey believes it could be used as an enterprise centre, while CEO of the county council Pat Dowling has described the purchase as “a very worthwhile proposal”.
