The Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District claims drugs use is “rampant” in the town.
Sinn Féin Councillor Mike McKee says there has been four drug-related deaths, that he’s aware of, in and around the town in the past six months alone, something he believes can’t be allowed to continue.
He’s reiterating his call for a dedicated drugs unit to be re-instated in the Shannon Garda Division.
