Claims That Burren Stone Wall Removal Will Destroy Heritage

It’s claimed that planned upgrade works to the gateway to the Burren will destroy part of its heritage.

As part of wider works, Transport Infrastructure Ireland plans to replace some stone walls adjacent to the N67 between Kinvara to Ballinderreen South Galway with steel barriers, on safety grounds.

However, a major campaign has been launched to save the iconic walls, with a meeting planned tomorrow evening in the Merriman Hotel in Kinvara.
