The Church of Ireland Archdeacon of Killaloe has passed away.
Wayne Carney was ordained in 1984 in Canada and came to Ireland in 1995 when he became Rector in the Clonfert Group of Parishes, before being appointed Archdeacon of Killaloe in 2002.
He passed away unexpectedly at his home yesterday, at the age of 68.
He’s survived by his wife Norma Jean, their daughter Kathleen and son Brian and extended family.
The Church of Ireland Bishop of Limerick, Killaloe and Ardfert, Kenneth Kearon says has spoken of his shock following the Archdeacon’s passing, describing him as a good and loyal friend, a true pastor and an able and caring Archdeacon.
