A Canadian company has raised over two million euro to fund its activities at a zinc prospect in Co. Clare.
Hannan Metals is looking to explore its wholly-owned Kilbricken prospect, which is the site of an old lead and zinc mine that operated in the 19th Century.
Hannan has been drilling at the site since May, and the Irish Independent reports that it will now deploy a second drilling rig there to see how good the prospect is.

The company has described initial results there as “substantial” and has previously stated that the site, near Quin, could create up to 2,000 jobs.
