Calls For Mental Health Professionals In Secondary Schools

An Ennis Councillor claims too many teenage lives are at risk on account of a failure to put proper mental health services in place in schools.

Ann Norton wants to see full-time professionals introduced in secondary schools in this county to help and support vulnerable young people who are struggling.

In Clare alone, there are no beds in the system for teenagers, who are forced to travel to Galway for treatment, while some children have been even treated at the adult psychiatric unit in Limerick.
