Call For Shift In Mindset About Log Cabins As Homes

Claims are being made in Clare that log cabin homes need to be viewed as a solution to the housing crisis and not dismissed as ‘sheds’.

It follows comments by the Agriculture Minister, who has called for a challenge to the perception that forestry is a last resort for farmers and not profitable.

Last month, Fianna Fáil insisted that no family should be living in a shed and expressed concern that landlords would take advantage of renters, when the idea that timber homes could be built quickly and cheaply was floated.
