A West Clare Councillor insists steps need to be taken to address a sewage problem which has led to rodents coming into houses in Ballyvaughan.

Bill Slattery claims residents on St Joseph’s Road first approached him two years ago, as heavy rain leads to the local sewage system overflowing near their homes.

Clare County Council engineers have carried out repair works to address the rodent problem – while the local authority is to write to Irish Water and TII to press on them the importance of the long-term repairs.
