A Shannon councillor is calling on the government to roll out a National Flood Insurance Scheme to put homeowners minds at ease.
Clare avoided any major flooding incidents in yesterday’s storm but many areas in this county have been badly hit in recent years and in some cases, are struggling to get their house insured.
Plans for flood defences in some parts, including Ennis, are progressing but there’s a call for something to be done in the interim.
