Call For Full-Time Caretaker For Drumcliffe Cemetery

There are calls for a full-time caretaker to be put in place at Drumcliffe Cemetery in Ennis to help people looking for the long-lost ancestors’ graves.

Independent Ennis Councillor James Breen believes there is significant demand for a full-time worker at what is the county’s largest burial grounds.

The local authority says a number of part-time caretaking staff are employed across the county to deal with the 200 burial grounds in Clare.

But Councillor Breen says between maintenance work and helping those visiting the graveyard, there’s enough work there to keep someone going.
