Burren Life Conservation Project Wins European Award

The Burren Life conservation project has been recognised by the European Commission for its work in protecting biodiversity.

The initiative began with 20 farmers but now has over 500 living and working in the Burren, who work to preserve the area’s natural plant and animal species.

It was the only Irish project nominated and received the ‘Best-Ever’ prize at the EU Life Awards in Brussels, after more than 20 successful years.
