WATCH: Man Hospitalised After Bull Rampage In Ennis

One person has been hospitalised after a bull broke lose from the Mart in Ennis this morning and went on a rampage through part of the town.

A car was also damaged at the incident on the Quin Road shortly after 10 o ‘clock this morning.

At around quarter past ten this morning, a bull being loaded into the rear of Clare marts, managed to free himself from the pen and made his escape in the direction of the Quin Road.

As the animal approached the gate of the mart, a man who was working in the area tried to intervene and the bull collided with him, knocking him to the ground.


The animal then travelled onto the Quin Road, where he collided with a van, causing minor Damage and continued down the Clon Road.

Sergeant Gary Stack from Ennis Garda Station says the bull was rounded up at the back of the Dunnes Stores Car Park, by a number of people.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where he’s being treated for minor head injuries.

The Heath and Safety Authority has now launched an investigation into the incident.
