BOI Promises Public Service Payments Will Go Through Tomorrow

Bank of Ireland has issued an apology after tens of thousands of public servants weren't been paid this morning.

Gardaí, nurses, prison officers, transport workers and teachers are among those whose salaries haven't arrived in their bank accounts because of problems at Bank of Ireland.

The bank has assured people that payments will go through tomorrow morning, while both it and AIB says any late payment fees would be refunded in full.

A number of private sector workers were also affected and President of the INTO and West Clare principal Sean McMahon says it's a major inconvenience for their members.
