Appeal For Information On Ennistymon Church Robbery

The Parish Priest of Ennistymon has condemned those involved in a break-in to the church over the Easter weekend.

Thieves gained entry to Ennistymon Church, on the Lahinch road, by forcing open a number of doors, sometime between 8pm on Sunday evening and 10am on Monday morning.

They ransacked the sacristy before getting away with a significant sum of money believed to be in the region of 5,000 euro.

An investigation is now underway, with Gardaí examining CCTV footage to determine the course of the investigation.

Parish Priest, Fr Willie Cummins, has been telling Clare FM that he’s deeply upset over the incident.
