Protesting Farmers At Kepak Drumquin ‘Not Going Anywhere’

Farmers protesting at the gates of Kepak in Drumquin say they’re going nowhere, despite reports of some other demonstrations being stood down.

It emerged last evening that those picketing outside a Dawn Meats factory in Meath ceased their protest; while it was later reported that a demonstration at an ABP factory in Waterford was also stood down.

However, it’s now understood that a number of farmers are continuing to demonstrate at the Waterford facility.

The nationwide action has led to temporary lay offs at a number of facilities while Kepak says its €6.5 million investment at its Drumquin facility has been put on hold as a result of the protesting.
