Clare’s Independent TD is backing calls for an independent investigation into Ireland’s beef sector, ahead of the next round of talks to break the current deadlock.
Beef farmers and meat industry officials have already met this week, following two weeks of protests at factories including Kepak at Drumquin, near Ennis.
The demonstrations led to temporary lay offs here and further afield and now, more talks are due to take place on Monday next, as all sides work to broker a deal to prevent further protests taking place.
