Get Beef Deal Over The Line And Focus On Brexit – Clare IFA Chair

The Clare chair of the IFA insists it’s vital to get a resolution in the beef crisis quickly so that farming organisations can focus on Brexit preparations.

Talks in the long-running dispute reached an impasse last night and Agriculture Minister Michael Creed is to intervene today in an effort to broker a deal.

It’s now been a week and a half since protesting farmers agreed to stand down their demonstrations, which led to temporary lay offs at meat plants across the country, to engage in talks.


Little progress has been made in that time and now, Willie Hanrahan says it’s time to up the pace and get a deal over the line to ensure a fair price for the farmer:
