The manager of Clare Marts is warning of the knock-on impact of ongoing blockades at meat plants, on both beef and sheep sales.

It comes as Meat Industry Ireland has confirmed 3,000 workers have been temporarily laid off due to the continuing protests at factories, which led to MII withdrawing from talks earlier this week.

Difficulties for farmers in getting their existing animals processed, has lead to concern that they’ll be unable to buy more livestock.
