Than Manager of Clare Marts has played down concerns over the impact of bogus claims on business here.

Concerns have emerged over an increase in the volume and value of insurance claims in recent years and its been suggested that marts across the country need to be protected to ensure they don’t go out of business.

Martin McNamara says businesses here haven’t been the victim of this, thanks in part to ongoing efforts to improve health and safety standards.

But he admits that insurance costs have been on an upward trajectory for the past five years, and insists it’s vital that every effort is made to eliminate bogus insurance claims.
