Burren Farmer Calls For Decisive Action To End Bovine TB Crisis

A Burren farmer is urging the government to take decisive action to address the issue of bovine TB blackspots in counties like Clare.

New figures released by the Department of Agriculture have revealed that the Burren remains one of the worst-hit regions in the country, with only two other areas nationwide in the “red” danger zone.

Overall, the national herd incidence for TB stood at 3.2% at the end of March, up from 2.6% the same month last year, while Clare has the highest number of restricted herds in the country due to the disease.
