There’s been a 21% increase in the number of callouts receive by Clare’s County Fire and Rescue Service in the past year.
From January until the end of November of this year, 943 were reported, compared to 774 in the same period last year, marking a rise of 169.
The rises were seen across all incident types with forest fires in particular highlighted, following the long summer drought with record high temperatures.
