It’s hoped the Shannon region will be elevated by targeting the sport tourism and business markets.
Plans have been laid out to attract corporate conferences and sporting events to the region, with focus on the proximity of likes of the University of Limerick the big selling point.
Conferences are likely to be the biggest money-spinner, with visitors from overseas the main focus.
