Clare is to receive almost half a million euro this year for the repair of private roads and boreens around the county.

€482,000 money has been allocated under the government’s Local Improvement Scheme to tackle issues on smaller roads and laneways that aren’t covered by the local authority’s roadworks.

These often lead to homes and businesses and many were left untouched for eight years until the LIS funding was restored last year.
