It’s a huge weekend for Clare handball with no less than four pairings heading to Kingscourt in search of national titles.

In the Minor girls final Catriona Millane and Bridin Dinan face Kildare opponents.

Tiernan Agnew and Mark Rodgers are in the minor boys final while Fergal Coughlan and Tom Kirby contest the Masters decider.

The senior mens final is a repeat of 12 months ago as the Banner pairing of Colin Crehan and Diarmuid Nash take on the defending champions from Cavan, Paul Brady and Michael Finegan.

Ahead of this one we got the thoughts of Kilkishen clubman Crehan.

The Clare minor footballers begin their Munster championship campaign with a quarter final tie against Limerick in Cusack Park on Wednesday evening.

A Clare team will make history this weekend as the first Irish side to take part in the Women’s Australian Rules Champions League tournament.

West Clare Waves are a new club formed in November 2017 and had immediate success in winning the inaugural Irish Womens Draft Cup.

They now travel to Amsterdam to take part in the European tournament where teams from 22 different countries will compete.

Coach and Kilmihil native Michael Currane has told us the club has grown quickly in a short space of time.
