Clare Seizure A Step Forward In Tackling Illegal Drugs Trade

Gardaí are continuing to question two men in connection with a significant drugs seizure in Clare.

Gardaí stopped a car on the M18 motorway, near Dromoland, yesterday evening and seized cocaine with a street value of around 56 thousand euro, and a 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

A follow-up search of a house in Castleconnell, Co. Limerick resulted in the seizure of cocaine and cannabis worth 41,500 euro and the arrest of a 36-year-old man.

The men are being questioned at Ennis and Henry Street Garda Stations under section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act and can be held for up to 7 days.
