Calls For Clare County Council to Get Involved With Heritage Sites

Clare Councillors have called for the Council to be involved in, or to take over the running of Shannon Heritage sites.

Local representatives unanimously passed an emergency motion at yesterday’s County Council meeting, in the wake of concerns about the plans of Shannon Heritage for its sites at Bunratty, Craggaunowen, and Knappogue.

Bunratty is open at present, but is due to close for the rest of the year from August 31st. The other sites haven’t re-opened this summer at all.
