Morning Focus – Wednesday 31/01/18

Wednesday’s edition of Morning Focus had a plethora of interesting topics and guests, among them The Morning Focus Book Club, which Gavin hosted at 11 am with the help of Seamus Ryan and Cora Gunter who are both from the Clare Library Service.

The show commenced at 9 am when Gavin introduced Áine Kierans of the Love Both campaign onto the show. They discussed the Cabinet’s decision to repeal the 8th amendment.

Next, Gavin and Padraic McNicholas, CEO of Munster Group Insurance, discussed personal injury claims and whether or not they should be capped.

Then, Gavin welcomed Senator Martin Conway onto the show and they talked about the ratification surrounding the UN Convention of Rights for Persons with Disabilities.

At 10 am, Gavin and Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry, hosted the ‘Keeping Kids Out Of Crime’ programme which is running all week long. (29/01/18 – 02/02/18).

Following that, Gavin chatted with George Stacpoole, council member, about antiques and collectibles. A valuation day will take place in the Hunt Museum on the 4th of February from 12 pm to 4 pm.

To finish up the second hour of the show, Gavin talked to James Mulhall, Clare FM reporter, about the Great Limerick Run which is happening on May 6th in Limerick city.
