Morning Focus producer, Fiona McGarry, has been looking at what happens when someone involved in crime is under the age of 18.
She’s been speaking some of those involved in juvenile justice and those who’ve been referred to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.
That aims to keep young offenders – in so far as possible – out of the courts and away from further crime.
