New Cathaoirleach Annoyed Over Slow Pace Of Council-Led Projects

Clare’s new first citizen has expressed annoyance at the slow pace at which Council-led projects are delivered.

On Friday evening last, Councillor Michael Begley was elected as Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, the first person from Clonlara and South-East Clare to ever hold that title.

He’ll now wear the Mayoral chains for the next twelve months, the final year of the current Council term.

Speaking after his election, which he called the proudest moment of a political career which began in 1991, he said improvement is needed in the delivery of projects throughout the county.
