Trolley Numbers Spike To 111 At UHL

Nurses say there’s been a significant spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital this morning.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 111 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 38 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than double the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital and is three more than all ten hospitals serving the East of the country combined.
