A war of words erupted between the two main parties this week over the future arrangements for the Government.

Micheal Martin said the Taoiseach needs to realise he doesn’t have a divine right to power and criticised him for discussing the confidence and supply agreement in the media.

While Leo Varadkar has called for clarity from Fianna Fáil, saying the party is sending mixed messages.

Now, two of Clare’s oireachtas representatives have weighed in on the row – Fine Gael’s Martin Conway says there’s an appetite within his party and among the voting public to keep the current government in place.

The Enistymon Senator says it’s up to Fianna Fáil to ensure that another election isn’t called.

The confidence and supply arrangement is due to be in place until at least this October’s budget, and Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD insists his party is committed to negotiations.

But Timmy Dooley has accused the Taoiseach of attempting to cover up important issues like Brexit, by talking about an election.
