Adelboden is a very traditional town with farming still the main source of income and this gives it the feel of a real lived in town rather than a tourist ski resort. I got the same line from any locals I talked to who said it is even more beautiful in the summer and a great place for hiking and mountain biking.

Adelboden is surrounded on all sides by mountains giving the sense you are in the middle of alps. This resort was perfect because it has many kms of wide open gentle red runs making it perfect for the average Irish skier and I would say it is a great resort for families or couples.

Adelboden’s low key charm has always made this resort popular with Swiss people with the spectacular mountains view I have ever seen in the alps.
