The best pool players from across the world have descended on the county for the World Eightball Pool Championship which is being held in Clare this week.
Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis is hosting the tournament, which got underway yesterday, with 18 countries competing to take home the world title.

545 players are taking part in what is the 32nd iteration of the tournament, with both individual and team competitions to be decided across the week’s proceedings.
Owner of Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis, Patrick Treacy, says the popularity of the tournament is equivalent to that of the Fleadh Ceoil.
