The Shannon men beat Newcestown of Cork after a dramatic finish on a 1-18 to 2-13 scoreline.

James Carrig's side were always in control of proceedings, and led at the break by 1-11 to 0-8 thanks to Gary O'Connells goal.

Aaron Shanagher was in fine form from placed balls, and with injury time looming they led by 1-17 to 0-13.

The Cork men struck for two late goals but they weren't enough as the Tones became the first side to have won both the Munster Senior and Intermediate Club Hurling titles.

They now go on to the All Ireland Semi Final at the end of January where they play the Leinster champions.

That will be played next weekend, where Bennetsbridge of Kilkenny take on Kiltale of Meath in Nowlan Park
