Wins for Antrim,Kildare and the Dubs in All Ireland Qualifers

Kildare qualified for the final-round of the football qualifiers earlier today following a 2-17 to 1-9 victory over Derry at Celtic Park. The visitors lead by a single-point at the break, but extended their advantage with an excellent second-half display, with Eamon Callaghan and Alan Smith netting in the closing ten minutes.

A late point from Karl Stewart saw Antrim progress into the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland hurling championship. The sides were level at the break, before Dublin took a six-point lead at one stage in the second-half. However, – a brave fightback from the Ulster side saw them win on a scoreline of 1-17 to 19 points.

Dublin moved into the final-round of the football qualifiers following a 14-points to 11 victory over Armagh at Croke Park this evening. The sides were level, 6-points apiece at the break, with Bernard Brogan scoring five-points in the first half for the hosts.

Both sides traded points in the second-half, with Philly McMahon coming to Dublin’s rescue with a goal line clearance from a Brian Mallon shot in the final ten-minutes. However, – it was Pat Gilroy’s side who secured victory with late points from Paul Flynn, Bernard Brogan and Eamon Fennell.
