Whitegate are preparing to make their first appearance in the 2021 Clare senior hurling championship this evening.
The East Clare men had a bye in last weekend’s opening round, and begin their campaign against Kilmaley in Cusack Park.
Terence Fahy’s side lost out to Feakle and Sixmilebridge in the 2020 championship, but warmed up for this tie with a draw against Wolfe Tones in their final Clare Cup game.
Fahy says not having a game last weekend is not a major concern for his squad
Meanwhile Kilmaley will be bidding to bounce back from an opening round loss when they line out this evening.
Conor Clancy’s side looked to be in control at half time in their tie with Inagh-Kilnamona when they led by 0-12 to 0-9, but lost out after a strong second half showing from the Combo.
Clancy says they have to move on quickly to get their season back on track
Throw in this evening is at 6.30pm with live commentary on Clare FM in association with The Half Barrell Bar and Restaurant Whitegate.
