Weekend action in Cusack Cup

Play-off spots are up for grabs for some, and relegation will be on the minds of others ahead of the final round of The Cusack Cup.

Action begins tonight, when St. Joseph’s Miltown play already-relegated Liscannor at 8:00.  The crux of the action comes tomorrow though, when the remaining three games take place.

Ennistymon play St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield, with a win for the North Clare side sending last year’s finalists into the second tier.

This result could also push Ennistymon into the semi-finals, but only if Kilmurry Ibrickane and Lissycasey beat beat Eire Og and Doonbeg.

The top two sides meet in the Garry Cup, when Kildysart take on Clondegad, while Shannon Gaels, who meet O’Currys, and Kilrush, who are due to take on Cratloe, will look to overtake the losers of this tie.

Those matches are Saturday, while on Sunday a win for St. Breckans over Kilmurry Ibrickane could see them secure Division 2 status if Cratloe fail to win.
