Conor Meredith and Martin Scully grabbed goals for Laois as they beat neighbours Offaly 2-18 to 1-15 and Sean O’Brien was on the line with the Carlow management but they lost 1-15 to 13 points against Athlone IT. Longford went down to a heavy defeat against Kildare at Newtowncashel, 3-20 to 6 points the final score.
