Kildysart manager Maurice Walsh is praising the character of his side after they came with a late surge to beat Kilmihil and save their status in the TUS Clare senior football championship.
A goal from Gavin Downes had sent Kilmihil three points clear in injury time, but Kildysart pulled the result out of the first thanks in part to a Luke McGrath two pointer and a dramatic winner from Diarmuid O’Donnell.
It means the Estuary side see their season come to an end, but they will compete in the top tier again in 2026, which will be their fourth consecutive senior campaign.
Walsh says they found an extra gear when it was needed most against a quality opponent.
Meanwhile Miltown became the eighth team to qualify for the quarter final draw as they overcame Doonbeg.
The draw for the quarter finals will take place on Tuesday evening.
The last remaining spot in the intermediate quarter finals will be filled tonight when Coolmeen meet Michael Cusacks in Miltown from 8pm
