Banner Ladies claimed the Div. 1 league title for the second year in a row when they defeated West Clare Gaels by 2-8 to 1-4 in wintry conditions in Kilmihil last evening.
Playing with the aid for a strong breeze the winners lead 2-5 to no score at half time the goals coming from a Niamh O’Dea free and Aoife Keane.
West Clare Gaels responded well after half time with Katie Geoghegan who contributed 1-3 particularly impressive but it was the Ennis side that deservedly took the title.
Earlier last evening also in Kilmihil, Kilrush claimed the Div. 3 League Shield title with a comprehensive 5-11 to 1-4 victory over Clarecastle.
This evening the Div. 2 League semi final between Fergus Rovers and Shannon Gaels will be played in Clareabbey at 7.30p.m.
