Munster’s Damien Varley is to fly-out to New Zealand after being called-up to the Ireland World Cup squad after Jerry Flannery was ruled-out of the rest of the tournament.
Flannery has been told that he’s facing four to six weeks on the sidelines after he tore a calf muscle in training yesterday.
Sean Cronin has now been promoted to the bench for Saturday’s clash with Australia after Declan Kidney had initially named Flannery on the bench this morning.
There’s four changes from the side that started against the USA, with Rob Kearney, Eoin Reddan, Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy all coming into the team.
