Van Gaal defends handling of Pedro affair

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal says questions about Pedro's move to Chelsea have to be put to Barcelona and not them.

Van Gaal said he can't answer if he thought the player would come to Old Trafford and refused to confirm if it was them or the player himself who pulled out of the deal.

The Spanish player moved to Stamford Bridge yesterday even though he had been linked to the Reds all summer.

Van Gaal has defended the work of executive vice chairman Ed Woodward who had been negotiating with the former Barcelona player.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez says he's not aware of any transfer request for  John Stones.

The defender has been linked with Chelsea in the last number of weeks.

It's reported that Stoke have rejected a bid from Norwich for Jon Walters.

Walters has been involved in both league games so far this season for the Potters.
